Testimonials

Heather was the keynote speaker for our annual all staff meeting. Her energy and way of connecting with the audience was just what we needed. Aside from clearly sharing very personal experiences, her ability to reinforce confidence concepts and make them applicable to regular day to day living activities was amazing. I had a chance to catch her minutes before the keynote, and shared some last minute information I wanted her to address during her time up on stage, and she flawlessly included it as if it was prepared from day one. I would recommend Heather for ANY sort of event requiring personal growth and development activities.
“When I first learned about Heather Monahan, I read her book Confidence Creator. What I read was an affirmation of everything I knew about myself but needed to hear out loud. After watching a few videos of Heather, I knew she would be an excellent choice to inspire the members of the Society of Professional Women (SPW) program at The Main Line Chamber of Commerce. Heather was so easy to work with leading up to the event and assisted in marketing the event to her own network. Our event jumped to 50 new registrations in one day from posting one of her videos! On the day of the event Heather commanded the attention of the attendees immediately. She was able to completely engage the audience without a power point presentation with stories from her own life experiences. The audience laughed, gasped, shouted out and listened intently to every word. Heather’s ability to connect with people on the stage is undeniable. She created an energy in the room that will inspire others to be more confident in themselves daily. I have received tremendous positive feedback from our members and sponsors of the program as well as new connections that were in attendance. Heather is sincere and authentic, and I would highly recommend bringing her in to speak and uplift others to their full potential. She is truly making a difference in the lives of all who have the pleasure and opportunity to listen to what she has to say.”

Heather, I’m sure you get these all the time, but thank you for the content that you produce. I am the Executive Director for a small nonprofit and heard you first on the Tim Ferriss podcast. I downloaded every podcast you had done recently because I loved your mindset. We do a trip from Washington to South Dakota every year (we work globally) and we have been battered by storms the past two years. This year (while tent camping) we got weather alerts for tornadoes, golf ball sized hail, and 60 mph wind, and tried to wait it out. We thought we were in the clear and went back to camp and another storm cell came through camp and tore out the road and flooded us out. I brought us into the nearest city to get hotel rooms for the team. I remembered the story you told on one of your podcast appearances about asking for discounted rooms and we got ours for more than 40% off each room and got free breakfasts in the restaurant. I would have never have thought to do this before hearing you and just wanted to say thank you and that your views of confidence are so impactful to me personally and our organization. It seems trivial but I have a whole team that is excited to get back to work instead of being soggy and upset and it didn’t hurt our bottom line at all.
Thanks again.
Heather thank you so much for your session with the Virginia Association of Broadcasters at our 2019 Annual VAB Conference. Your energy level and content was exactly what we needed to kick off our conference. It was good for our attendees to see what is involved in being a success, but more importantly how one re-invents themselves when a major setback occurs in life.”
Thanks again for helping make our conference a huge success!
How I would describe Heather Monahan as a Keynote Speaker; she’s a bad @$$, plain and simple. She truly gives off the “boss in heels” presence.
From the moment she stepped on stage, she captured the audience’s attention by sharing her totally relatable story of the high’s and low’s she faced in her professional career. She inspired us all to fight for what we believe in and never settle for anything less than what we deserve.
Her witty humor and tell it like it is personality had the crowd laughing and yelling “Amen!”
We received so much amazing feedback on Heather and we are so thankful that she made the trip to Panama City, Florida to speak at the Women’s Work-Life Symposium.
Heather, I’m grateful to Know your story. You inspired me to continue with my goals because I’m uncomfortable in a job with a salary per hour. I know that I was born with a great purpose and it’s time to start working for my goals and helping others. I feel more confident doing what my intuition is telling me. Reading my diary helped me to open my eyes to what I want to do regarding my goals and dreams.
Looking back and thinking that on the first day of Confidence Creator I felt unbalanced, afraid to start working with my goals. The most amazing thing is that I am capable of doing everything I set my mind to, just as I did in the past. I can say that it was easy to put myself first and my priorities. The most important impact I have made is to be more grateful, to count my blessings. I still have to continue to strengthen my confidence, take action and not let fear dominate me even though I know it is not real.
And yes! I imagine having new challenges, opening new doors and growing professionally. I know that I’m able to create something that inspires other women like you do.
Thank you!
Many blessings
Thank you so much for your inspirational talk at Harvard yesterday!
“Thank you Heather for your insightful, thoughtful, authentic presentation today for our class. Your success stories, practical advice and positive energy are inspirational!.”
In the last year I’ve gone through absolute hell. A divorce, an unhealthy fight for seeing my daughter, loss of a job, and a broken engagement just to name a few. About 6 months ago I was in a very dark and scary place. Lots of meds, visits to hospitals and rehab. Very dark thoughts.
I randomly read one of your posts and thought “easy for her to say, she’s one of the most beautiful women in the world.” Then I kept reading. And reading. And following. And reading. And started thinking positive. Started following your “rules”. It has been incredible.
In the last two weeks I’ve won cases to see my daughter more. Got a great place to live. And today I found out I’ve landed my “dream job”. Literally everyone around me has noticed the change. I was out on Friday night pre-celebrating and a random guy came up and said “man, I want to be around you. You’re so positive and happy. It’s infectious”.
I know technically you’re message is directed at women but I wanted to let you know you’ve changed my life. From afar. And I can’t begin to thank you enough. I wish you all the greatest that you’ve given off.
Be you. Forever.
Amazing talk yesterday by Heather Monahan, Author of Confidence Creator. She was inspiring, funny, honest, vulnerable and above all.. confident! Heather joined Horizon Media as part of our LIMITLESS program, which is focused on helping Horizon women reveal, explore, hone and expand their own leadership potential. The LIMITLESS speaker series is one element of this comprehensive initiative.
Heather came to speak at our Love Yourself summit in July 2018 and was fantastic. Her presentation, storytelling, and energy were exactly what we were looking for to kick off our event. But more importantly, her message really resonated with our audience. From leaving her corporate job to fostering resilience to clearing toxic people from her life, Heather’s story is one that needs to be told to women everywhere. She truly exemplified the power of confidence and we’re so glad we got to see her in action!
To say Heather was wonderful at our Las Vegas Aces Women Inspiring Women event would be an understatement. Heather’s passion for helping other’s build confidence through sharing her own experiences and stories was empowering. Not to mention her zest for life is contagious! Women (and men) can all walk away from one of Heather’s speaking events with new perspectives and on a path to a better, stronger version of themselves. We’re proud to have had her be a part of our event!
I was at a work lunch today and some of the folks were saying their teammates attended your session and it was LIFE CHANGING. Girl. You know your sh•it and I was super impressed and amazed by your workshop. And I am not typically a fan girl… but I was totally fan girling! Do you thang!
Some days ago I was part of a summit for women in leadership and I didn’t have any expectations but to learn something new. As the speakers started their presentations I started to become more excited and interested then I saw Heather, this beautiful and strong woman who was talking about confidence and how she struggled earlier in her live and I couldn’t believe it, I related to most of the things she was talking about so I decided to buy her book. I was hooked from page 1. Every situation sounded so familiar, I related to most of her stories and I couldn’t believe her story on chapter 12 was exactly as mine. So today I want to thank you Heather for sharing your story because you have inspired me to find the strength I needed to share mine. Confidence Creator is a must read, it’s addicting, it’s amazing, it has a very strong message not only for women but also for men who struggle with finding confidence. I have not only finished it in few days but also gave it as homework to my team. Keep rocking

The Monahan Method works. I am living proof.
Heather Monahan is the “Boss In Heels.” I know her, however, as: an amazing mother; my personal mentor and coach; a role model for all women; an unbelievable show-stopping beauty; and (as if all of this isn’t enough), an incredibly generous human being.
I was blessed to meet Heather many years when she and I were both fellow business women in Miami, FL. I was immediately drawn to her– she has the ability to make everyone feel comfortable and connected. This is because she is so comfortable in her own skin and unconcerned about impressing or outdoing others. Her success in business speaks for itself. But it is Heather’s story– who she is, where she came from and the struggles she endured along the way to her success that make her truly one of the most exceptional people I have ever met.
Heather is a natural born leader. As a “petite” girl with a high-pitched voice, I have often struggled to get my voice heard— especially in the office or board room. Heather empowers me to have confidence in my voice- and myself. Her coaching allowed me to finally recognize my worth and leave an incredibly toxic and often abusive professional relationship. Thanks to her example, her advice and her time (which she donated to me- since I was living paycheck-to-paycheck), I am now in Boston with the job of my dreams and living a life I didn’t even know was possible. And I finally (at 40 years old!) was able to break the six-figure salary mark!!! None of this would have been possible without Heather.
I was absolutely thrilled to learn that Heather has decided to go into business for herself– now even more women will be able to become their own version of the “Boss In Heels.” At at time when women are still getting paid 80 cents on the dollar, and grossly under represented as CEO’s and on Boards of Directors, I can not overestimate the importance of finding mentors and role models- women who have “been there, done that.” This can only happen when we empower and inspire each other, as women. Heather embodies that ideal with the way she lives her everyday life. She is the definition of a “girl’s girl”.
Heather also helped me present myself with strength from “day one” at my new gig. Thanks to her, I have started my “new life” from a position of confidence and respect for myself- and I am widely regarded as THE mentor and role model for the young women at my organization. Like Heather, I take the time to do visioning work with them and give them candid advice (Heather is willing to tell you the stuff you don’t always want to hear- but does it in a way that is empowering, not belittling).
I truly can not endorse Heather Monahan and her company more passionately. Heather she is the safest investment you will ever make- she is destined for continued greatness and will continue to make hundreds more women- like me- great along the way with her.
Always driven, rarely distracted. Those who know her now would most likely agree; however, most haven’t seen how she came to be where she is at today. I have known Heather for thirty years. Through school, sports, friendships and apartments I have seen how the bridge from Worcester, MA to Miami, FL came to be.
Living at home, she seemed to have more freedom than most high school age girls. Instead of running with that freedom, in which many would self destruct, she had the ability of containing it while balancing caring for her two younger brothers and holding down multiple part-time jobs.
Her infectious laugh, engaging personality and untouchable confidence made her so much fun to be around. Heather was nothing short of a blast when it came to downtime but she had the ability to reel it in back to what she needed to do. She was, in retrospect, nurturing the personality of the confident leader she is today.
When we shared a living space, she was always working hard on her college degree. It was at that time, I began to experience panic attacks. It was Heather that insisted that I put a bell next to my bed and told me to ring it for her to come in and help whenever one came on. To me, that was over and above what someone could do for me at that particular time in my life.
Heather was never drawn to material things such as memorabilia, furniture or decorations. Instead, she is in the moment. She’s talking, listening, laughing, preparing and working. She’s engaging. Avoiding the distractions, getting it done and driving home what is now a brand.
I watched her get it done; she was a girl boss in training. The only difference now is the heels. #Bossinheels
When Heather Monahan was my Boss in Saginaw I often found myself in awe of this very talented class act of a leader. You see she was not only in a male dominated industry, that industry was undergoing a massive transition where by several radio stations where able to now coexist under one roof due in large part to the transition to the digital age. The old guard was not happy about this to say the least, then add in the fact that stations would no longer require as much staff as they had in the previous decade, most people would politely run away from a task this difficult, not Heather. To a true leader she knew difficulty could translate into opportunity, more importantly she instinctively saw this as not just a job reducing transition ushered in by the digital age, but rather a technological transformation that would enhance every aspect of the business. Make no mistake Heather Monahan is a master of the business arts and as the 21 Century began so did the career of an elegant visionary leader my one time Boss Heather Monahan.
I’ve had the pleasure of working for Heather as well as having the honor of calling her my friend.
In the work world, Heather is a strong, passionate and inspiring leader. I’ve been in the radio industry for many years, and have witnessed firsthand how rapidly this business has changed over the decades. What is so impressive about Heather is her ability to stay ahead of all the new and developing aspects of not only radio, but the overall media broadcast industry which changes at lightning speed. Heather has inspired me to continue to educate myself and to stay relevant and informed on the future of our industry. Heather is always evolving and has encouraged me to do the same.
Personally, Heather is a kind, compassionate, honest and loyal friend. No matter the time, situation or environment, Heather is always on call if you need her. She is also an attentive and nurturing Mom who is raising a strong and confident child. I honestly don’t know how Heather does it all so well. I guess it’s clear – I am a fan of Heather Monahan!
Heather is a true best friend and a person who inspires me to be – better, bolder, stronger and more successful – than I think I can be. She is ambitious and her drive becomes contagious for other women and business associates. She raises the bar while always being authentic about challenges and opportunities. Heather is a great mom, friend and partner – she builds strong bonds and trust like it’s her job and you know you can count on her to be brutally honest and encouraging at the same time.
I consider myself truly fortunate to have Heather in my life! She’s been an amazing friend, confidante and mentor to me over the years. Heather is a valuable resource because her perspective always helps people to step outside themselves and look at things from different angles. Heather’s wit, enthusiasm and generous spirit are contagious! Her insight has helped me through challenging times both personally and professionally & kept me laughing through it all! If you want to take your life to the next level, you need Heather Monahan in it!
If you ever have the pleasure to meet a person who is the total package, you will if you meet Heather. Heather is an inspiration to anyone who comes in contact with her, personally and professionally. I have had the luxury getting to know her in the workplace and outside. She has a special aura about her. She encourages people to be their best, she sees in others what they may not see in themselves, she pushes people to limits she knows they can achieve and beyond. Don’t judge this ball of fire by her outward beauty, get to know her and you will see it’s even more pronounced on the inside.
Heather is my challenger. By that, I mean she challenges me on an ongoing basis to own it, to be it and to dream it. She pushes me when I can do more, be more, and achieve more, and she does it with a smile and grace. How does she do this? She asks the tough questions, she gently suggests and then she blatantly challenges the norm. I’ve been fortunate to have Heather challenge me in relation to my career, my self identity, my parenting and many other topics that are important aspects of my life. Heather challenges me to take risks, to think a little harder, to want a little more, and to push myself further to be a better me. I am grateful to have her as a friend and role model.
Heather is one of the most talented sales leaders in the media industry. She consistently demonstrates leadership, strategic thinking and is an inspiration to all. Heather honestly cares about helping those around her succeed in both their professional and personal lives. I am very fortunate to interact with her every day as she always gives sound advice, is someone I know I can count on and she’s the type of leader you would want to work for.
From the board room to the dance floor- Heather is literally every woman’s woman. She’s the canvas of what all women, including myself, strive to be like: business savvy, fearless, dedicated and genuine. She can motivate and inspire you in a flash and her personality is so bold and fierce, it captivates audiences the moment she walks into a room. Her smile is radiant and her passion for everything in life is contagious. She sees possibilities and doesn’t let anything hold her back. She’s always pushing limits and raising the bar; she’s a powerhouse. But most of all, she has a heart of gold. She manifests what it means to be the ultimate #GirlBoss, #RoleModel, #FullPackage.
I have been fortunate enough to know Heather Monahan for many years. She has continuously inspired me with her positive attitude and optimistic outlook. She is one of those rare people you meet in life whose happiness and beautiful smile is matched only by her enormous heart. She truly wants to see others succeed and will do whatever it takes to help make sure that happens. I admire Heather and her ability to gracefully manage it all.
Heather has been a rock and an inspiration to me in so many ways and someone that I admire so much. She is loyal and compassionate and no matter how busy her schedule, she always makes time for me. She is a ball of positive energy and has uplifted my spirits in some really hard times. I am in awe of her and her ability to juggle an extremely challenging career along with being a full time mom who is raising an amazing young man. I always say that Heather is one of the most successful women (or anyone for that matter) that I know. She has managed to create an amazing career and is always aspiring to new goals. I would love to achieve half of her success one day, both professionally and personally.
I met Heather Monahan is the spring of ’09, when I was the National Sales Manager in Philadelphia, for Beasley Media. It was a challenging time and Heather was successfully leading our company through the Great Recession as Executive VP of Sales. There were immense challenges both inside and outside of our company. Watching Heather unite and inspire us through that adversity taught me life-lessons both professionally and personally. What was even more impressive was watching a high-level business person, with such tremendous responsibilities resting on her shoulders, still find time to be an amazing parent. Heather’s son, Dylan is always at the forefront of everything she does. It’s her ability to cut directly to the heart of a matter with laser sharp clarity which makes Heather so accomplished professionally and personally; there are no wasted moments and she’s always 100% invested. Heather was a true mentor and helped me grow my career while at Beasley, guiding me towards several promotions by teaching me the art of negotiating and helping me first recognize then create value in my unique skills. To this day I still use the skills I’ve learned from Heather for personal growth and career success, which have helped me achieve goals even after no longer working with her at Beasley Media Group. Something which always impressed me about Heather is the enormous respect her competitors have for her, and even though I can now count myself as part of that group of competitors, I am grateful I can still call Heather a mentor and most importantly a dear friend. To this day when I need guidance or advice, Heather is always one of my first calls. If you want to empower yourself professionally and personally, if you want to unlock and learn the value of your unique skills, then I strongly encourage you to invest some time with Heather Monahan and get a taste of what everyone is talking about.
Working under Heather Monahan’s leadership was both inspiring and motivational. Her selfless guidance pushed me to be uniquely creative and encouraged me to strategize towards my personal passions. The result gave me a greater sense of self in my work.
Heather championed my efforts to look beyond the opportunities that even she could provide. She has continued to personally motivate me far beyond my employment at Beasley Media Group. This is something Heather gets an honest joy in doing. And I remain the beneficiary of her strength, drive and leadership outside of Monahan’s organization to this day. This support, I am truly grateful for.
You were the first female executive I’d ever worked for (after 25 years in radio with mostly male leadership) and because of this I am changed forever. Our connect created one of the most positive and inspiring experiences of my career. Very rarely do you get to meet and work with such a striking woman (stunning) who is also equally smart, fearless, positive and REAL. Who leads by connecting, motivating and inspiring us to be our very best. And someone who behind all this is a very real woman and an amazing mother who had to overcome challenges and obstacles all with a wicked sense of self and sense of humor. You are a tremendous role model for women in business and in life.
Thanks for being my partner when we ran the radio stations in Saginaw Michigan. I always thought we were very good business partners together, covering all of the bases for each other and working as one unified team towards our goals. I also want to say thanks for continuing to be my friend beyond our partnership these past few years.
When you are in the moment, and are young in your management career such as I was back then, it is hard to appreciate just how a business partner can impact your life then, and for years to come.
Now that I am older (wish I was younger and knew what I know now right) and can reflect, compare and analyze, it’s much easier to see that you were a great business partner, mentor, coach and pal. I learned so much from working with you that made me a better manager, made me a stronger person and gave me more confidence, than any other partner, manager, colleague or supervisor I have ever had. And at the same time, we had a lot of fun hitting budgets, making money and working hard along the way.
I truly don’t remember working with any other person over the past 15 years who had my back like you did, helped me make good decisions (well mostly good), gave me solid advice and helped me become a better seller, business person and manager. I believe I would not have become as successful in my businesses career as I have been, if we had not crossed paths. Thanks Monahan!
No one commands a room like Heather. I love her zest for life and passion for her career. Just being around her makes you want to try just a little harder. She is fearless with endless energy. On a personal level she is extremely loyal and cares deeply about people. Heather is the type of personal you want and need in our corner. I admire her desire to be the best she can be. I will always be grateful to Heather for having my back and encouraging me to fight for what I believed in. She is a true inspiration!
I don’t have words to describe how much I appreciate and admire Heather. I have been blessed to know her for more than 4 years and have been able to see the “behind the scenes” of her life! Yes she is BEAUTIFUL, even without makeup (for those that wonder), but more importantly, she is a strong, independent Mother. Being so successful at work makes her schedule very busy, however that does not keep her from her duties as a mom and being present in Dylan’s life. How does she do it? I even wonder myself sometimes, but I have come to realize that it comes down to: her love for the one thing that gives her the motivation to become a better woman and mother!
So if you’re looking for someone that can teach you a thing or two on how to handle life, work, single motherhood and all the obstacles that come with it, Heather is the complete package. She is a BADASS WOMAN!
